About Together in Holiness

Where Spouses Discover God’s Plan for Their Family
Together in Holiness is a marriage conference series for dioceses that inspires spouses to grow together in holiness and empowers parents to form their children in the Catholic faith. To learn more about the Together in Holiness marriage enrichment initiative, click here.
  • "We love attending Together in Holiness every year! No matter how many times we've been to the conference, we always walk away with new things to ponder personally and as a couple to enrich our marriage and family life. Especially now that we have children, it is a great reminder for us to prioritize our marriage and not forget to pour into one another."

John Varkey and his wife Shiji have been married for 30 years and have three adult children. In addition to serving on the Advisory Board of the St. John Paul II Foundation, John has been an active member of the Catholic community. John has served in various roles, including prison ministry, RCIA, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and as lay chaplain. Those roles have played an important part in John’s life, but none have been more important than his roles as husband and father. As parents, John and Shiji are in awe of the journey God has called them on, and as such they take seriously their role as the primary spiritual guides in the lives of their children. Through the various stages of their children’s lives, they have endeavored to cooperate with the Holy Spirit to pass on the gift of faith and help them embrace the vocations God has planned for them. When not engaged in his primary roles, John works as an executive at a Fortune 500 company in Houston.
