Scholarships
  • If you need assistance with the cost of the conference, we encourage you to apply for a partial or full scholarship (click here); if you feel called to contribute to our scholarship fund, you can do so at the time of registration.

Refund Information
  • If you are no longer able to attend the conference, after purchasing your ticket, you may choose to transfer your registration fees to a scholarship couple in need, or request a refund.
 
  • All refunds must be requested 2 weeks prior to the conference. The last day to request a refund is Friday, September 5. All refund requests made on or after September 6, will not be accepted, but the funds will automatically be transferred to a scholarship couple in need. Please email [email protected] to transfer your registration or request a refund.

MARIO SACASA, PhD, LMFT
Associate Director, Faith and Marriage Apostolate

Mario Sacasa, Ph.D. is the Associate Director of the Willwoods Community Faith and Marriage Apostolate. He is a licensed marriage and family therapist and has been in practice for over 15 years. Integrating the riches of the Catholic faith with sound counseling practice is the aim of his career and influences all his professional endeavors. Dr. Sacasa is the host of Always Hope, a personal growth podcast that sits at the crossroads of psychology and Catholicism. He travels the country offering lectures on hope, relationships, and mental health issues. He is the creator of two online courses: Dating Well, which helps young adults navigate the current dating scene, and Overcoming Stress and Anxiety, which offers clear guidance for managing stress in life. Dr. Sacasa is married to his wife of 20 years, Kristin, with whom he shares the joy parenting their four sons.

MALLORY SMYTH
National Speaker, Author, and Podcaster

Mallory Smyth is a national speaker, author, and podcaster having authored the book Rekindled and Walking with Purpose Bible Studies. Mallory has been in full time ministry for the past 13 years. She has worked formerly as a FOCUS missionary and a content creator for Walking with Purpose. It is her dream to see Catholics fall deeply in love with God and grab hold of the joy offered in the Gospel. She lives in Denver with her husband and five children.

PILAR CARANTI
Life Coach, Parenting and Family Consultant

GUIDO CARANTI
Executive Vice President at Aquinas Companies

Guido and Pilar Caranti, originally from Argentina, have called Houston home since 1996. Married in 1995, they raised six children, ages 18–29, all practicing their faith, with the eldest four being college-educated and financially independent. Most importantly, each one of their children practices their faith. Guido, an investment executive, specialized in large energy projects and private equity for middle market consumer businesses. He is now the Executive Vice President at Aquinas Companies leading growth and diversification. Pilar, formerly a dedicated full-time mom, is now a life coach supporting women and couples, with a passion for family and child education. Together, they founded Family Summer, a unique vacation program in Beaver Creek, Colorado, combining parenting workshops, leisure, and outdoor adventures. With over 20 years in parental education, they recently launched Couple2Couple Mentoring to guide young parents in raising children with confidence and intentionality. The Carantis are also active in prison ministry in the Huntsville area.

REV. PHILIP WILHITE
Pastor, St. Helen Catholic Church

Fr. Philip Wilhite, a native Houstonian, has served as a diocesan priest in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston for 35 years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts-Psychology and a Master of Divinity from St. Thomas University in Houston, and a Licentiate Degree in Dogmatic Theology from St. Thomas University in Rome. He has served in several parishes, on the archdiocesan Personnel Board and Presbyteral Council, and as founding chair of the archdiocesan Evangelization Commission. Fr. Philip currently serves as pastor of St. Helen Catholic Church and School in Pearland, TX.

TARA MCCONATHY
Business Administrator, St. John Paul II Foundation

Tara McConathy is Business Administrator at the St. John Paul II Foundation where she oversees the management of human resources and administration in support of the day-to-day operations of the staff and mission of the St. John Paul II Foundation. Tara earned a BA in Communication from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and previously served as Chief Operating Officer of a Houston based non-profit and as Business Administrator for an Episcopal church in the Houston medical center. She and her husband, Sean, are parishioners at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Nassau Bay where they are raising their three children. Tara is excited to be able to use her talents for the Glory of God, the Catholic Church, and to the benefit of the St. John Paul II Foundation and its mission for life and family.
