Scholarships
  • If you need assistance with the cost of the conference, we encourage you to apply for a partial or full scholarship (click here); if you feel called to contribute to our scholarship fund, you can do so at the time of registration.
Refund Information
  • If you are no longer able to attend the conference, after purchasing your ticket, you may choose to transfer your registration fees to a scholarship couple in need, or request a refund.
 
  • All refunds must be requested 2 weeks prior to the conference. The last day to request a refund is Friday, November 6. All refund requests made on or after November 7 will not be accepted, but the funds will automatically be transferred to a scholarship couple in need. Please email [email protected] to transfer your registration or request a refund.

DEACON JASON AND RACHEL BULMAN
Catholic Authors and Speakers, Co-Hosts of Meet the Bulmans

Rachel and Jason Bulman have been married for 16 years and have 7 children, six on earth and one in heaven. Jason is a practicing physician assistant, national speaker, writer, and deacon, and holds a master’s degree in theology. His first book Praying with the Psalms:3-Minute Devotions for Advent and Christmas will be released in August 2025 with Ave Maria Press. Rachel is a stay-at-home mother, national speaker, and author. She served as the editor for With All Her Mind: A Call to the Intellectual Life (Word on Fire) and authored Becoming Wife: Saying Yes to More than the Dress (Our Sunday Visitor). The Bulman family was featured on the series "Meet the Bulmans" on the Word on Fire Institute YouTube channel, and Rachel and Jason also wrote and recorded a novena for married couples that is featured on the #1 Catholic meditation, prayer, and sleep app, Hallow.

DEACON MICHAEL J. DEEM, PhD
Fellow, St. John Paul II Foundation

Deacon Michael J. Deem is a Fellow for the St. John Paul II Foundation. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Genetics, Director of the Multidisciplinary Master of Public Health Program, and Associate Director of Interprofessional Education in the Health Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. Deacon Deem received his Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame and completed the Pediatric Ethics and Genomic Fellowship at Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City. He is the author of several articles and book chapters on philosophy of science, bioethics, ethical theory, and empirical health research. He is currently writing a book on concepts in genomic medicine and co-authoring a book on genetic counseling ethics. He is co-editor of two books for Oxford University Press: The Oxford Handbook of Genetic Counseling and Nursing Ethics: Normative Foundations, Advanced Concepts, and Emerging Issues. Deacon Deem was ordained to the diaconate for the Diocese of Pittsburgh in 2024, serving as a permanent deacon at Saint Aidan Parish in Wexford, Pennsylvania and as an Assistant Master of Ceremonies for the Diocesan Bishop. He lives outside Pittsburgh with his wife, Katerina, and their five living children.

COLIN AND AIMEE MACIVER
Catholic Authors, Speakers, and Co-Founders of Thy Ship

Colin and Aimee MacIver are full-time authors, speakers, pilgrimage leaders, and educators with decades of combined experience in writing, ministry, formation, and presenting. Their many award-winning books and programs with Ascension include Belonging; Quick Catholic Lesson with Father Mike; Receiving Jesus and Renewed by Jesus; Encounter with Mark Hart; and Envision: Theology of the Body for Middle School. Colin and Aimee present with warmth, clarity, authenticity, and humor that invite audiences into the life-changing beauty and truth of the Catholic faith. Their ministry expertise spans Theology of the Body, sexuality and relationships, the lives of the saints, Catholic sacramental formation, youth and family ministry, and more. The MacIvers also operate Thy Ship, a travel and pilgrimage apostolate. Married 23 years, the Colin and Aimee have two children.

MOST REV. MICHAEL T. MARTIN, OFM CONV.
Bishop of Charlotte

Bishop Michael T. Martin, OFM Conv., was born on Dec. 2, 1961, in Baltimore, Maryland, the only boy of four children in a Catholic family whose faith was an integral part of their lives. He attended Archbishop Curley High School in Baltimore, where he would later return to work. In 1979, when he was 17, he entered the Conventual Franciscan Friars Novitiate in Ellicott City, Maryland. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from St. Hyacinth College-Seminary (Massachusetts), earned a Bachelor of Sacred Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Bonaventure (Rome), and received a master’s degree in education from Boston College. He worked as a religious studies teacher and coach at St. Francis High School in Athol Springs, New York, in 1984-1985, then served as a transitional deacon at St. Adalbert Parish in Elmhurst, New York, in 1988-1989. He was ordained to the priesthood on June 10, 1989, by then Auxiliary Bishop John Ricard of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Following ordination, he returned to St. Francis High School to serve as admissions director and as a teacher and coach, from 1989 to 1994. He then served in several positions at his alma mater Archbishop Curley High School from 1994 to 2010 – including president, principal, admissions director, and teacher and basketball coach. In 2007 he was the recipient of the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice award from then-Pope Benedict XVI for his service to the Church. He is no stranger to North Carolina, having served as director of the Duke Catholic Center – the official Catholic community at Duke University in Durham – from 2010 to 2022. He has also held a number of leadership positions in the Church, particularly in Catholic education. He has served on multiple Catholic school boards including Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, and worked with Partners in Mission, a Boston-based consulting firm that partners with Catholic schools and institutions to advance the mission of Catholic education. In 2022, his order assigned him to ministry in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, where he served as pastor of St. Philip Benizi Parish in Jonesboro, Georgia, until his episcopal appointment by Pope Francis on April 9, 2024. On May 29, 2024, he was ordained to the episcopate by the Most Rev. Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM Conv., Archbishop of Atlanta, and on May 30, 2024, he was installed as the fifth Bishop of Charlotte, succeeding the Most Rev. Peter J. Jugis.
