about Together in Holiness

Where Spouses Discover God’s Plan for Their Family
Together in Holiness is a marriage conference series for dioceses inspiring spouses to grow together in holiness and empowering parents to form their children in the Catholic faith. To learn more about Together in Holiness, click here.
  • "The more our families are formed as faith-filled disciples, the more our society can enjoy the peace and justice of the Kingdom of God. I encourage all couples to attend this year's Together in Holiness conference to learn how they can foster a culture of authentic discipleship in their own domestic churches."

MOST REV. DAVID A. KONDERLA
Bishop of Tulsa

Bishop David A. Konderla is the second of twelve children, son of David and the late Ann Konderla. He grew up in Bryan, Texas, graduated from Bryan High School in 1978, and worked for several years as a machinist before entering the seminary in 1985. After graduating from the University of Dallas in 1989 with a bachelor's degree in history, he earned his Master of Divinity from the University of St. Thomas and St. Mary's Seminary, and was ordained on June 3, 1995. Bishop Konderla served at St. Louis Parish in Austin and St. Luke's Parish in Temple before his assignment as associate pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Center in College Station. After almost four years with the Aggies, he was named as Vocation Director for the Diocese of Austin, where he served the diocese for four years. He then returned to St. Mary's as pastor and Director of Campus Ministry in August 2005. Bishop Konderla is known for his skills in woodworking and carpentry. His father lives in Bryan, Texas and all 11 siblings live within the state of Texas. Bishop Konderla was appointed the fourth Bishop of Tulsa on May 13, 2016 by Pope Francis. He was ordained and installed as Bishop of the Diocese of Tulsa on June 29, 2016.

KATHRYN WHITAKER
Author and Speaker

Kathryn Whitaker is an author, blogger and speaker. A sixth-generation Texan, she was raised an evangelical Protestant until she met her husband on a blind date at Texas A&M. On the eve of their wedding, Whitaker converted to Catholicism. Since 2007—with honesty, authenticity, and a healthy dose of sass—Whitaker has shared on social media what it’s like raising a raucous Catholic family, including a preemie, while balancing her writing, her love of the Aggies, and stocking the fridge with plenty of Dr Pepper. She has contributed to Blessed is She and Take Up and Read and has appeared in USA Today, EWTN, Ave Maria Radio, and is a regular guest on The Busted Halo Show with Fr. Dave Dwyer on SiriusXM. Her book, Live Big, Love Bigger, is currently in its third printing with Ave Maria Press. Kathryn and her husband, Scott, live with their family in Austin, Texas.
