Scholarships

  • If you need assistance with the cost of the conference, we encourage you to apply for a partial or full scholarship (click here); if you feel called to contribute to our scholarship fund, you can do so at the time of registration.

Refund Information

  • If you are no longer able to attend the conference, after purchasing your ticket, you may choose to transfer your registration fees to a scholarship couple in need, or request a refund.
  • All refunds must be requested 2 weeks prior to the conference. The last day to request a refund is Friday, October 6. All refund requests made on or after October 7 will not be accepted, but the funds will automatically be transferred to a scholarship couple in need. Please email [email protected] to transfer your registration or request a refund.

MOST REV. FRANK J. DEWANE
Bishop of Venice in Florida

Most Reverend Bishop Frank J. Dewane serves as the spiritual leader of approximately 250,000 Catholics in the 10-county Diocese of Venice in Florida. He was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI in 2006 as the second Bishop of the Diocese. Bishop Frank J. Dewane was named Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of Venice in Florida by Pope Benedict XVI on April 25, 2006, and on January 19, 2007, he was installed in his current role as Bishop of the Diocese. In addition to holding a degree from the University of Wisconsin, Bishop Dewane also completed studies at The American University in Washington, D.C., as well as from Pontifical Gregorian University and Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, both in Rome. Prior to entering the seminary, Bishop Dewane worked for the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) in Moscow, Russia, and then for a subsidiary of PepsiCo in New York City. Ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Green Bay in 1988, Bishop Dewane was appointed in 1991 to serve as a member of the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations in New York City, during which time he represented the Holy See at several international conferences. In 1995, he was transferred to the Pontifical Council “Cor Unum” and was later appointed Under Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace. Bishop Dewane serves on the Ad Hoc Committee against Racism, and Subcommittee for the Pastoral Care of Migrants, Refugees and Travelers for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Bishop Dewane previously served on several committees at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops including the Committee for Domestic Justice and Integral Human Development (past Chair), Committee for International Justice and Peace. Bishop Dewane is a member of the Board of Directors of the Franciscan Foundation for the Holy Land, and is the Episcopal Liaison for Catholic Charities, USA.

HALEY STEWART
Catholic Author and Editor of Word on Fire Spark

Haley Stewart is an award-winning writer and the Editor of Word on Fire Spark, a new imprint for young readers. She is the author of The Grace of Enough, Jane Austen’s Genius Guide to Life, and The Sister Seraphina Mysteries. She and her husband are Catholic converts and have four children. They live in Tallahassee, Florida.

GREG SCHUTTE, MSW, LISW-S
Senior Director of Marriage Works! Ohio

Greg Schutte achieved a Masters Degree in Social Work from Ohio State University and has an Independent License in Social Work. For the past 17 years, he has been the Director of Marriage Works! Ohio which is a department of the Elizabeth’s New Life Center in Dayton, Ohio. He is also a marriage therapist and the author of the Discovering Our Deepest Desire ( www.ourdeepestdesire.com ) Catholic marriage enrichment program and the Building a Eucharistic Marriage ( www.eucharisticmarriage.org ) Catholic marriage enrichment video series, which is being taught in several parishes throughout the Cincinnati Diocese and nationally. He has spoken at numerous national marriage events and has done several talks for Franciscan University’s Catechetical Institute. Greg and his wife Stephanie have been happily married for 30 wonderful years and they are the parents of 7 children. Greg also plays in the Catholic music band “ROMANS”.

MICHAEL DAUPHINAIS, PhD
Professor of Theology at Ave Maria University

NANCY DAUPHINAIS
Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Michael has taught Catholic theology at Ave Maria University for over twenty years.  He’s authored numerous books and articles and has spoken about the Catholic Faith on many occasions to many different audiences.  His recent book Wisdom of the Word: Biblical Answers to Ten Pressing Questions about Catholicism was published by Bishop Barron’s Word on Fire Academic Press.  Michael recently launched a new podcast called The Catholic Theology Show to help a wide audience discover the richness of coming to understand God as he has revealed himself in Jesus Christ and to show how theology can make a difference in how we live our lives.  Nancy is a licensed mental health counselor who has worked for almost twenty years assisting children and adults who struggle with mental health and substance use disorders and currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at the David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health.  Michael and Nancy are big fans of Catholic marriage and family life and have worked with couples in marriage preparation for many years.  In different ways, Michael and Nancy are both grateful reverts to the Catholic Church.  They had five miscarriages, have three adult sons, three young granddaughters, and recently celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary while making the Camino pilgrimage in Spain.
